The day before, after a tiring day of tutoring, my husband Adam greeted me with his usual charm and revealed he’d booked a manicure for me the next day. He also mentioned working late, which wasn’t unusual for his job. At the salon, my manicurist, Lily, casually mentioned she was seeing someone new—someone smart, funny, and successful. When she revealed her “dream guy” was a manager, had dimples, and was meeting her that night at a hotel, I panicked. Adam has dimples and was supposed to be working late!
